GURU VIRAL PANDYA
Known for turning the mundane into stylish, Viral is an iconoclast who took on the establishment, and eventually became an institution revered by the very same establishment. Before starting Out of the Box, Viral has been in leadership roles in DDB Mudra, Saatchi & Saatchi, Grey Worldwide and Cheil.
Viral’s work has featured in several One Show Annuals, and he has more than a dozen Merits, a Silver Pencil and two Bronze Pencils to his credit. He won the Design Gold at Cannes Lions 2011. According to Luerzer’s Archive’s 10-year creative rankings in India, Viral occupies the No.2 position in Art and the No.1 position in Copy. He has also won numerous awards at New York Festival, D&AD Kyoorius Awards, GoaFest Abby, etc. The posters he designed were selected for display at the Museum of Design, Zurich in 2012. He has been part of the jury at Cannes Lions 2017, One Show Design (2013 & 2017), New York Festivals and Goafest. Viral continues to pursue his vision of making a difference to the industry. He also acts as a guest faculty at some of the most reputed universities in India.
Guru Sonal Dabral
Sonal Dabral, the Chairman and CCO at DDB Mudra Group, has over 25yrs of unmatched experience in the industry. A popular speaker, Sonal has spoken at major festivals like Spikes Asia, Dubai Lynx, Cristal Advertising Festival, Turkey, LIA, besides numerous engagements across Asia. He successfully woke up a sleepy audience in Taiwan by singing an impromptu Bollywood song during a presentation sometime in 2005.
In an earlier avatar, Sonal has been a popular TV host on prime time television, a Bollywood scriptwriter and has also been channeling his passion for films into directing ad films. His future plans include being a filmmaker on weekdays and a Pro Blackjack player on weekends. All along sipping his favourite single malts.
