How do you think designers can improve user experiences in the nearest future? What according to you is a great design?
I think a great design is when the designer can communicate the heart of the idea weather it be a company, business or product in the simple most elegant and unique way. I think as designers one of the key ways to improve user experience is to understand the void that exist in society, most people don’t question the status quo. But as creative thinkers, we question everything! And when we find a void, being able to let your imagination run wild in fixing that void.
How do you keep yourself developed, educated & up to date? Do you follow trends or actually counter trends? In fact, are there things like Design Trends?
I am part of social groups and also just being alive in this world and doing life, you get to see so much art and design everyday. So to keep myself educated and up to date, I just live in the present and keep my eyes and ears open.
I don’t think there are things like design trends, Although once in a while I think someone will figure out a new technique or tool to problem solve with and that will get really popular, but only until another creative person decides to question it.
What is your vision on the future of design? What could be the next breakthrough?
I think the future of design is our nation valuing Design. India could really revolutionize our living if we paid attention to the details. We are such an incredible country with so much potential that is wasted on creating robots in our school system. Im hoping the break through starts there, we start teaching kids to problem solve and constantly question things.
How did you get started in this field?
I saw something I didn’t like, and decided to make it look nicer. To this day honestly I think that's what I do, the tools have improved (I started on Microsoft publisher) and my palette has too, but at the root of it I’m just fixing little voids I find in the world.
What about graphic design excites you? How do you see graphic design guiding contemporary culture and what are your thoughts on our current visual “vibes”?
I love our current visual vibes, Design does guide contemporary culture there no getting away from that. The thing that excites me most about design is that we get to create something that will communicate the heart of our culture today.
Are there any "design trends" that you hate?
Not really :) I love the quote - “No art is complete, they are all just abandoned. So someday someone else can finish it.”
Would you say that you're creatively satisfied with your 9 to 5 work?
Haha! I don’t work a 9-5. I work about 30 hours a week.
What's the best way to overcome a creative slump?
GET OUT! I think as a creative person, until we work from a place of rest we can’t be creative. Like I previously said go find a void or problem your passionate about and try to fix that problem. That will awaken a deep imagination which will catapult you out of any slump.
Let's briefly talk about Creative Cloud. Which products make it easier for you to digitize your ideas?
I love the Creative Cloud, I'm an avid user of most of their products.
What would be the next step for you? You know 5 to 10 yrs, what would you like to see yourself doing creatively?
I love the concept of taking it a day at a time, but I would love to see myself probably start something like a collective to be able to work with some incredible growing talent.
